Preparing for 11+ - Gove new curriculum?

I have a DC about to enter Yr5, wants to take 11+ exams in just over a year. These will include maths and English.
I want to help her prepare for the exams. There are 11+ preparation books out there. But they are all based on the current primary school curriculum. There will be major changes to that curriculum starting this September.
Another problem is that from this September bright children will be extended widthways not forward - so her school won't cover Yr 6 work with her in Yr 5. But the grammar school tests include all Yr 6 topics.
Help! How are others, parents or tutors, preparing to deal with this? I am not someone who can teach maths or English (especially the new grammar stuff) without teaching from a book.

I suspect that you're overthinking this a bit. What is currently available in the shops and online should be fine - you'll find most parents prepare their children and few rely on the primary schools to do it.If you're in an area where it is maths and English rather than CEM tests, you're trying to ensure that they've covered all of the year 6 work anyway.

We used a variety of books, including ones from 30+ years ago which pre-dated the National Curriculum.

A lot of the content isn't taught in schools(well ours) but it is fairly easy to cover yourself using published materials.

When I have taught in state schools and my current school the curriculum is basically finished by the end of year 5. Year 6 is a consolidation year where very little new is taught.

All the 11+ resources you can buy in shops will be more than suitable for preparation

Y6 sounds boring!

Depends on the school/year. My dc1 didn't finish year 6 work till the end of year 6, as hers was 'slow' year; dc2's finished at the end of year 5 as it was a 'clever' year (same school).

All schools spend too much time in year 6 doing SATs prep, sadly, so yes, a bit dull.

Won't be a SATS test for the current Yr 4, apparently. No idea what they'll do instead.
