No particular child in mind, just wondering.......

but without those statistical questions answered, its meaningless ...

most NC file scale points are finger in the wind anyway.

C, officially. It's bollocks though - year 9 level 7 kids will usually hit the ground running and get at least B but more likely A in their first controlled assessment in year 10, even straight off the bat with minimal extra teaching.

Oh, sorry. Didn't read that you wanted Maths.

Disregard.

sausagedog12 · 19/06/2014 06:57

My son was a level 7A at end of year 9 in maths and went on to have an A in maths in year 10 missed out by 2 marks for A* if that helps.

mankyscotslass · 19/06/2014 07:07

DS1 is Yr7 and a 6a/7c - we have been told he is on target for A or A* at GCSE - or would have been if they hadn't changed the grading.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/06/2014 12:29

Do you mean what would be their target grade for gcse, or what is the direct comparison as a snap shot right now?

noblegiraffe · 19/06/2014 14:49

A level 7 is roughly equivalent to a grade C (level 7 is stuff like Pythagoras which is grade C GCSE).

A kid who gets a 7B in Y9 would on average get an A in Y11.
