boarding schools in Yorkshire

Hi, I am hoping for some recommendations or insight into boarding schools in the Yorkshire region. DD will come back to the UK from overseas in September 2014 to start year 10. Websites only tell you so much and we are not able to visit a good selection as we are all abroad right now. Options are for full or weekly boarding depending on location and state boarding schools are also an option. So far Ashville, Queen Ethelburga's and Harrogate Ladies College have caught my eye. Any advice gratefully received! Thanks

I have friends with children at Ashville, some board and some are day. They seem happy with the school, lots of sport, maybe not as pushy educationally as some day schools in the area but certainly happy children.

I have a friend with a very bright daughter at Queen Margaret's in Escrick. She has done very well there. Lots of international students but also some local Yorkshire one, including her! Mostly boarders and even day students have a bed/room to keep their things. Worth a look.

Any one have updates on whether Queen Mary's is a good school?
