Is this ok? New to all this, find it odd they predict 2 years ahead.
We have parent teacher interviews next week and daughter worried. Thanks

If GCSE grades do change to numbers rather than letters, I guess there will be a raft of equally disingenuous threads asking if being predicted 13 1s at the end of year 11 is good or not, and exactly how unusual it is Grin

noblegiraffe · 08/03/2014 14:06

It would be very unusual as 9 is to be the top grade and 1 the worst Wink

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 08/03/2014 18:13

Oh I didn't realise it would go in that direction! Reverse that, then!
DS v worried as predicted to get all level 9s: we are terrified this isn't good but also want to know how unusual and exceptional it is.

OK, here's a question for those who find these levels easy to understand. My yr 8 started the year with a target grade of 5a in Spanish. Got a level 6b in the tests at Christmas. Now got a new report with a level 6b. This shows up red on her report as "performing below expectations". But the end of year expectation was level 5a. So it seems to me she's performing above expectations.

How can that make sense?

And I still don't understand the MFL levels as they seem to start very low but are expected to progress faster so by GCSE level they're equivalent to their other subjects, is that right? So they will have to progress at much more than 2 sublevels a year?
