How would you expect to hear that your child was being moved down a set?

Just that really. I'm trying to decide if I'm BU. Will stop by a little later to explain more (an at a sporting event with dodgy 3G!).

I would make an appointment with the HOY and the language teacher. Ask what he has to do to be moved back up.

Agree with curlew. And maybe it will be a bit of a wake-up call for him.

We aren't told what sets the DC are in at their school, never mind if they are moved up or down - DD seems quite hot on knowing the pecking order, but DS is/plays cluelessWink

If there was a problem with progress, I'd expect to be told at the next parents evening/report or contacted if that was some time away.

If it was just due to others making faster progress and the ability of sets being re-jigged then I would expect the child to be told that and they mention it to me.

That's just it, Kez. He wasn't told.

They're not budging on this, either :(

That's a bad way for DS to find out. And it's also crap that French always seems to take priority over German. German is such a lovely logical language to learn.
