I have just posted on another thread that the school my DD attends have started helping DD unlike the last 5 years of school.

I was wondering why after wanting to rid themselves of my DD for most of yr10/11 after DDs results came out they were failing over themselves to keep DD admittedly the old SENCO was SHIT the new one is ACE but why the suddern change from the school.

Financially beneficial? Absolutely no! But presumably HE looks better than unemployed on their leavers stats.

Expected or better than expected results from SN DCs are worth mega Ofsted points.

Poor results from SN lower ability DC can put you in special measures regardless of how well the rest of the pupils do.

Also, to be fair many SENCOs are very good.

Thankyou Starball. that would explain why after my DDs results came out, which were 2CS in English/history 3Ds in Maths/Science/pe the school were all over us. These results were achieved in just 6 weeks at the end of year 11, SHE DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for the previous 2 years.

The school have seen a report that shows DDs IQ at 138.If they can get a grip on her behaviour and help her achieve her potential which is University. Grade Es to University will look fantastic for them, but why has it taken them 5 years to do something.

MY DS's school did nothing for seven years. Now at Uni, he has DSA and a full time helper.

Primary managed to get a scribe for DD1's SATs at about three weeks notice.

It had been patently obvious that DD1 is dyslexic from Y1
