Anyone else still waiting?!

We are at position No 1 for a super-selective. Do places ever become available this late in the day? Has anyone had an offer as late as August in the past?

Very possible someone won't turn up on the first day. Hard to believe, but certainly true! You may get an offer early in the autumn term...but don't hold your breath.

We are in West Kent and places do come up even early on in the Autumn term. We know of a family who are unexpectedly moving in mid August ...they won't be giving up their dd's place until everything is signed off and there are yr6 boys with super selective places who may be giving them up before September. Well worth waiting for but I know it is difficult...are you happy with your allocated school?

Yes, very happy. It's just it's a 40 minute bus ride away, whereas the super-selective is walking distance. Both are fantastic schools, so it's a win-win situation. We will hold off buying uniform until end of August.

Don't think I would move DC once school starts in Sept.

Students sometimes get offered places several weeks into term.

During an open afternoon for Yr 5 pupils yesterday, the Head announced that the are investigating two pupils who they suspect have used fraudulant addresses to gain places at the school. So there might be two places released.

Do schools really follow through and take places away from pupils? I know they all threaten it in admission policies but does this actually happen or is it too much hassle legally?
