London Day Schools good for mild Dyslexia

DS is Yr5 and probably has mild dyslexia (seeing an EP later this year).

I was wondering if anyone has experience with the SEN provision in any of the London Day Schools. His prep feeds into St Pauls and Merchant Taylors with some boys going to other ranging from Westminster to the John Lyon.

We are in West London and only looking for day schools preferably all boy.

Any recommendations or warnings and any other advice greatly appreciated. I will also speak to the prep Head but wanted some hands on experiences too.

For an academic boy, it's worth looking at KCS Wimbledon

Dulwich College (not exactly west, but with has a coach service that covers a lot of SW London) is experienced with both mild and moderate dyslexia.

Thanks I'll look into those.

I was impressed with the support for SpLDs at both Latymer and Hampton, both have fantastic drop in facilities and a very positive attitude.

I should clarify I mean Latymer Upper which I know is mixed but did stand out.

Both St P's and KCS both seemed very inclusive and positive and have good SEN provision. I know of 3 extremely bright boys who were turned down by Hampton with SEN.

There's good learning support at St Paul's for boys with dyslexia/dyspraxia/dysgraphia/dystopia (well, I made the last one up).

That's interesting to hear about St Paul's, we are registered for there and visiting it next term. I'll ask a few questions when I am there.

Dystopia is how I feel when I get the termly bill Wink

castles sorry to hear that. Do know a lot of boys there with SpLDs though and the drop in facilities are very good and well used. I heard they recently bought 150 kindles which gives an idea.

This is all very helpful and exactly the sort of thing I was looking for.
