Where do you buy school skirts/trousers for your 14 year old girls?

DD is 14 and starting a new school in Sept. This will be her first time at school in the UK and first time in uniform.

The school has a strict uniform policy, most from school shop but trouser/skirts just have to be black, non-stretchy fabric, not too tight, no rivets or big buttons, and skirts must at least touch the knee.

We have found one skirt that she quite likes, but the trousers are all hideous.

Where should we look apart from M&S, Next, J Lewis?

Ah, OK. So maybe we can get away with stretchy-ish, as long as it's demure in other respects!

I get dd's trousers from NEXT. They do a slimfit size which are very good.

Dd 14 prefers trousers for school. I suppose I should be grateful because there seems to be the age old skirt length battle going on all the time up there. It's a shame though because she does look nice in skirts, not that she thinks she does.

We had a battle last year because she wanted very straight 'skinny' school trousers. Well I could only find stretchy grey jeans. Dd said 'everyone' wears them but I knew they wouldn't be allowed.

So I got the Next trousers again and compromised by taking them in a bit to make them straighter. Gawd teens and uniforms

Tell your dd to think herself lucky she doesn't have to wear a daffodil yellow and royal blue checked pleated skirt (not even a kilt). But even that can be rolled over at the waistband - and they still wear it with black opaque tights. And in the summer they can wear a similarly checked dress with white socks so prefer to be hot in a wool skirt and thick tights

Naice plain black office type trousers .
and then there's the black stretchy mini mini skirt and black tights
