hi,
Bloxham is a lovely school-probably a waste of money for the brightest kids but for those just average or struggling a little it is great. V friendly. Not many stay for the weekend - mostly weekly boarders or day pupils except in the sixth form where they stay at weekends just for the fun of it.

Seaford College? We got the prospectus but didn't go & look around. Seems a nice enough school. I know someone who moved their DCs to the prep school last year, will give her a call & feed back either on here or privately.

Seafood caters for children of all abilities and an especially good choice for children at the end of prep school who would fail to get into a selective school. Having said that I know a child who I teach this year who went on a trial day into yr 9 (is a yr 8 pupil but parents wanted her to experience the senior school) who hated it as she felt that the behaviour was poor. I can't comment on what it was like as I wasn't there, but the parents of that child stopped considering it as a choice for their girl.

I was recently talking to a friend with a DS who sounds similar to your OP about Bloxham she felt it was a perfectly decent school and worth considering if you have money to burn but she hasn't. Her DS will leave his prep and go to their also local state school which is also perfectly decent and free; she struggled to see the difference between what her DS would achieve at Bloxham and what he will achieve in the state sector.
