SATS and a broken thumb !

My DD broke her right thumb last weekend - not great timing as she has SATS next week! School has been lovely and she will have a TA as a scribe as she can't hold a pen. But does anyone know how much mock SATS and continual assessment would be considered in marking in this type of situation ?

It is her work- the TA has no input.

There is no allowances made under any circumstances to the level a child gets from their tests, what they do on the day is their test level. However a teacher assessment level is also made and sent to secondary schools who should notice any major discrepancies (most schools will also liaise with year 6 teachers so if a child doesn't sit or completely bombs a test unexpectedly they will know).

With a scribe your dd will simply tell the ta what answers to write, the ta can have no input so it shouldn't make any difference at all, especially as there is no longer a writing test. Doing written calculations might be a bit harder but you could allow the child to do very rough jottings if they have some movement (or with the other hand) and then the final answer is recorded by the scribe

Lovely, thanks for that. Knew the TA cannot talk at all but just wondered whether results would take any consideration of her mocks - more for the maths really as it is hard not being able to do any jotting down !
