And why, with a physics O level, don't I know? Is it radiation? Or convection? It isn't conduction!

I was going to say radiation hut am rubbish at science. Someone else willbknow for sure.

Chubfuddler · 07/05/2013 18:13

I would have thought radiation too but I know nothing about physics. Is it even physics? That's how much I know.

Radiation
The transfer of energy to or from a body by means of the emission or absorption of electromagnetic radiation.

Unless it's a windy day, then you could say the heat loss is greater due to convection.

Thanks very much. For some reason I'd got it into my head that radiation could only travel through a vacuum! Blush. Of course that's wrong. Radiator, anyone? Clue's in the name, erebus! But I do recall struggling with thermal energy transfer in the second form, too! (Y8 for the 'children' amongst you Grin.
