Home ed./ Distance learning A level History Is it possible?

DD(16) is at a school where for various reason she cannot study History at A level. She is doing GCSE (and is predicted an A). The local college cannot help either.
Does anyone know of an OU style A level that she could study in her own time? I have seen some advertised but the reviews are mixed and coursework/exams etc seem to present huge problems.

No. Would you consider doing a Scottish higher -equivalent to AS in one year then following it with Scottish Advanced Higher History, which is equivalent to A2 History?

I've not used it but it looks like what you are looking for. You have to register for exams yourself from what I understand.

What about Interhigh? Don't know how their fee structure works for A levels

I don't know, but I'm sure you'll get good advice from someone on the busy home ed email list which is linked from this page: nwilts-he.org.uk/he_exams_wiki/ , either about how to do it or alternative qualifications. The list is for young people who want to do qualifications from home.
