Does your school talk to the children about this topic? There seems to be an awful lot of 14 year olds having sex with numerous partners at out (private) school is this the norm in most schools?

How do you know?

The girls have been chatting about it at school also they don't seem to be bothered who sees them in the act at parties.

I think we are expecting too much from schools. This used to be and has to be an issue discussed at home. Sex education starts in the home and the earlier the better. Also, just limit the parties and the going out.

Yes, the PSHE curriculum covers consent, including legal parameters as well as moral/ethical ones.

The child protection policy also obliges all adults at the school to act if they become aware that a pupil is engaged in or actively contemplating actions against the law or likely to be harmful. I don't know exactly how that is interpreted, nor what actions could be taken.

My children's school does the big talk in year 5. I agree with the previous poster this is part of parenting.
I guess my 14 year old won't be going to those sorts of parties, you are lucky your daughter tells you.

Our local town has u16 nights in the local nightclub. It's for year 7 upwards. It's been out on the 'not on your life' list for our 12 year old!
