Can you recommend a waterproof rucksack

After last weeks downpour ds has asked for a waterproof rucksack for his school books.

Can anyone recommend a good waterproof rucksack? Doesn't have to be trendy as ds doesn't care about brands (yet!)

Thanks

Hopefully someone will answer your post, as I'd also be interested as my daughter could also do with one (been down the fashionable route for her and strape broke within a month with weight of books, now have a leaking rucksack!). For now she's putting her books in a plastic bag in her rucksack until we can come up with a better option.

thanks Madmog, ds went with his rucksack covered by a carrier bag today much to his Blush, think we will have to do the same as you tomorrow Grin

you could try something like this www.alloutdoor.co.uk/water-proofing/grangers/grangers-tent-and-gear-waterproofing-spray-500ml-.htm?gclid=CKqxl6D37LMCFXHLtAodNmYALw

we also went for the plastic bag in rucksack

ds has a bog standard Jeep rucksack from Matalan that seems to be holding up well. It's not particulalry rugged (despite the name) but it's doing the trick.

Also have a look on the Sports Direct website.

Thanks ladies I appreciate your answers and will look into both of these suggestions, it is very wet here in the North West! For now I think it will be the plastic bag in the rucksack

There are some Jeep bags on Amazon, but I didn't spot the exact one.

We spray their school bags with Aquastop at the beginning of each term, which seems to help. If you're after actual waterproof rucksacks, my older boys use Regatta Survivor ones for Scouts.

You can get waterproof stuff sacks to fit in ruck sacks, but they are expensive.

Sticking a folled carrier in the bottom and then the books in another would probably help a lot.

This is what we did using bin bags for wet guide camps in large ruck sacks.

bag in the bottom acts as puddle protection during camp (some twit always dumps your bag in a puddle) and provides a spear for filithy stuff at the end of the week.

Folded and spare, proof you idiot Blush
