Help - school tights crisis!

What do people think are the most durable opaque black nylon tights for 11 and 12 year-olds? My daughter's just started secondary school, where they're a uniform requirement, and she's getting through a pair a day. I've put her back into the not-quite-regulation cotton ones for now, as this is turning out to be the most expensive aspect of her schooling!

Primark all the way... have tried john Lewis, M&S, Tesco, Asda but Primark last longest....

My DD wears black opaque tights. We've always used M&S kids ones and i found they last pretty well though i do have to remind her to keep her toenails short.

Definitely Primark. The higher the denier the better.

Primark, but Boots have an offer on atm, I got 9 pairs of 70denier for £12 the other day.

Just tried M&S essentials or budget ones £3.99 for 3 and they're great. Tries and failed with Morrison's similarly priced ones last year and they're shocking.

I bought my daughter's last opaque tights from M&S and they've lasted quite a long time. I know you can buy them from BHS, but no idea about quality.

work out what she is ripping them on (toenails, finger nails when pulling them up, catching on wooden chairs etc) and then talk to her about it, so she can be a bit more careful too

Also, don't be afraid to darn them or use nail polish to stop a ladder.

Agree with Primark. No consolation I know but mine has gone through about 2 pairs a week so far too!

Is she putting them on correctly ie, scrunching up, then pulling over her feet, then little by little up her legs, or is she dragging them up from the top?

DD1 is still wearing tights I bought for her in M&S when she started in Y7, and she is now in Y9!

DD has had tights from every shop including traditional uniform shops (doesn't help that they have to be navy !) and Primark have been the best beat M&S for quality every time and are half the price

I find the ladies 40 denier the best for 10yo dd

the 100 are very thick and therefore difficult to pull on so they end up putting their fingers through them trying to pull them up

M&S value 60 Denier (the £3.99 3-pack) last forever. (adult size small).
(The M&S 40 denier 3-pack tights didn't last out a day without laddering).

Have also tried Primark - they were just as hardwearing but didn't fit as well.
Primark do have a wider range of cheap tights though, including really warm thermal fleecy ones that are much cheaper than M&S.

We do primark and peacocks. Both fab. And I'm a cheapskate they're economical

Asda, small adult 60 denier - bought 6 pairs, all still good...
