Where to buy White blouses that aren't so see-through?

have looked in supermarkets and m & s so far, but the blouses are so thin you can see the bra so very clearly which dd is not happy with at all. But she doesn't want to have to wear a vest either. Any tips where to get some that are not like that?

M&S has a 100% cotton blouse tucked away online in its sensitive range ... we're going to try that or the Trutex 100% cotton...

M&S are great. Not as thin as a lot of them (and also wash well and are very easy-iron which is a bonus)

DD and her pals wear strappy t-shirts underneath theirs - would that be too like a vest?

Lots of them wear bright colours, but DDs are white.

Bras generally show through white. The best (if least trendy) solution is a skintone bra.

I found the blouses from school shops slightly less see-through. Did buy them once from BHS and they were good but not sure if they are still around. Vests are popular at dd's school too. All the girls seem to wear them over bras especially for changing purposes at pe. But the blouses are blue so looks less see-through anyway. But if your dd wore a white vest or cami?

I got DD's from here and they aer quite substantial fabric. However, she does wear a vest type tshirt (rather than an underwear vest) under them.

White strappy vest tops are the answer.

Is DD just starting at secondary? She will probably find most of the others wear vest tops, not proper vests iyswim. Primark do cheap good ones.

Okay thanks for the tips. Will look in uniform shop and maybe John Lewis, but will also advise that most seem to be wearing vest tops. It is all new to hear as she is just about to go into secondary, when at juniors so far she wore polo shirts, and is only just starting to wear a bra.

uniform shop Banner or Trutex

In my experience (15 yr old dd) there is no alternative to wearing a strappy vest under the shirt. Primark have them or m&s for better quality. Non-seethrough shirt cotton does not exist x

Does she actually ever take her jumper off? My 13yr old doesn't, however hot it gets (and yup she smells at times!).

Our school wear polo shirts in summer, to get round the tie issue.

Hadn't realised they prevent this problem tooGrin
