Does anyone have any experience of these schools? Which would be best if commuting from central London?

I don't think any of them would be an easy commute from Central London.

Hillingdon is over a mile from the closes tube ( Uxbridge )

Egham is 2 miles from the train.

also ACS Cobham is miles from the nearest station (Stoke D'Arbenon) but it has fantastic facilities if you can get there.

I am told by an Ameican family who moved here recently that there is a real shortage of places at these schools and its a question of who had places which dictated where they lived, so it may be worth checking as it may narrow down your options.

Closest tube to Hillindon is actually Hillingdon. Probably a good 20 mins walk though.

I knew the principal at Egham in a professional capacity at a different school.

He was the most popular principal I have ever known, amongst staff, pupils and parents.

I know that does not really answer your question, I just wanted to put in a good word for JL

If you are going to be in central London what about ASL?

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/06/2012 00:11

ASL hugely oversubscribed, apparently. And also don't do IB, only AP. On our list for consideration, as are Southbank and Marymount.

Have you looked at other schools doing IB in London, not just US schools?

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/06/2012 13:09

Mummytime - we have an "approved list" of schools where a percentage of the fees will be paid. This includes ACS (all of them), Marymount, Southbank, International School of North London (I think). It needs to be somewhere that just does IB as DD1 will be coming back too late to do GCSEs, and most London schools do both.
