Hi,

Does anyone out there has anything to say about Reading Grammar boys? I am very confused to where I would like to send my boys!

I am not sure whether Royal Grammar in Guildford or Reading Grammar? Apart from the financial aspect, could anyone give me some good advice?

many thanks

Just come across this thread. It's a bit late but wordplay in caversham has a list of tutors for reading boys and is good at advising on practice papers etc. I think the tutors get booked up years ahead and even pre test before they take on pupils.

since the thread has been revived - elite123 taking more than 10 GCSE subjects is completely unnecessary. Schools only encourage this to artificially inflate their position in league tables. You should regard it as a good sign that Reading puts the interests of pupils before chasing league tables. It's a much better school than its league table position suggests. The number of pupils who head for Oxbridge indicate how its pupils are seen by universities.

Hi,
Can anyone advise me on the school trips made by RGS and Reading boys? The RGS boys do a lot of trip as per their website ( which also seems quite expensive) . I did not get any information on Reading Boys.
Also, how's the extracurricular activities in both school?

Many thanks

Do you mean basically-compulsory trips, or optional extras?

My son's in y11 at Reading. He's had one or two compulsory day trips each year I think, with most of his gcse trips being to see plays for drama. Plus there have probably been another one or two longer optional trips each year that he could have put his name down for - they are usually oversubscribed and names are pulled out of a hat. He wanted to go on two, and got to do both.
