Jobs to fit personalities - and - lists of different job salaries?

DTs are only 10 (Yr 6) but already keen to think about what kind of job might be possible for them and also what jobs earn which salaries.

Does anyone know of any websites that:

a) describe jobs for certain personality traits/ interests - eg DT1 is good with people/ working in a team/ caring for those younger or for animals, likes being physically active rather than sedentary, likes Physics but hates Maths etc etc....

b) give a hierarchical list of which jobs earn what salaries (DT2 wants to be a journalist but also wants to earn loads of money! DT1 wants to earn loads of money but do v little work!!!)

I'd like to give them a reality check on what different jobs actually involve and continue discussions about the balance between a job you love but pays little vs a job you tolerate but earns enough to buy you the lifestyle you want - outside of working life.

I'm their only parent and have been self-employed in my profession for so long now that I feel out of touch with all the above.

The website Next Step might help.

Salaries are a strange thing though. Some pay scales are pretty structured - like teaching, but many come down to sheer ability, so you might want to be a pilot, because you like the pay, but if you aren't really cut out for it, then you'll never get there. Or working in finance - even if you pass the exams some people are better than others, so some stay on the lower end of the payscale as others fly to the top.

Equal to pay, I would think about does it suit your character, is it flexible (i.e once you have experience can you transfer the skills to self employment if you choose) and does it play to your abilities.

40 years+ is a long time in coming.
