How much lunch money do you give your dc for secondary?

Mine gets £3. I checked with a friend who has had 3 children at this school and was assured this is the norm. Now dc2 started secondary so am looking at £30/week. What does everyone else do?

DS gets £25 a month. This is to cover any school meals or drinks he chooses to have - all the makings of a packed lunch are available at home and he usually has a packup. Allowance is also to cover mates' birthdays, cinema trips, and extras - we pay scouts subs, but any trips above subs he has to pay half.

So far so good, he has the option of pasta at school if he wants it, but is learning to budget!

DS gets £3 a day, although sometimes he takes a packed lunch because he can't be arsed queueing. He sometimes comes back with change, but not often. I have told him to drink tap water, otherwise a drink swallows up a good chunk of his lunch money.

I wish we had that online thing when you can see what they have bought. He says he always buys something sensible, but I'm not convinced.

I give dd £80 a month as her bus and dinner money - it works out at £10 for a weekly bus ticket, and £10 a week for food, so £2 a day.

She takes a drink with her to school in addition.
