Isolation rooms

In daily mail (sorry!) a mother prepared to go to jail if her daughters school don't shut down their isolation room. Pupils don't like the isolation room-tough! Do the right thing and they won't go in. SIMPLE
Agree in the article her daughter should not have been put in it, but an apology for the mistake would be much better.

ummm tricky tough isn't it, isolation rooms have been shown to exacerbate temper related issues and on Waterloo Road they are always used at to group kids who then go on to natter pointlessly then break-out of school on the next mind-numbingly stupid mission - not sure these rooms do a whole lot of good.

re the pupils in the DM story - of course they don't like it, it is there to serve a purpose!

Waterloo Road is not how they are set out in reality!

Proper isolation rooms do not allow for students to 'natter' (for example, Educating Essex and Mr Drews room) and yes, students really don't like being in there. Most schools that have isolation rooms also have different start times/end times/break and lunch times so therefore the student who is in isolation has no access to their friends at all

Re costs and transport to sporting events - might you consider your local council - Hampshire here fund youngsters and there are several sports chartities here that fund sporting stars of the future too.

Another idea would be to see about getting her sporting skills independently assesed, your post seems to suggest she is very good but not totally the top of her sport for her age, I know it sounds harsh but given that shes coming up to 16ish it might be worth evaluating just how good she could be compared to how much funing it would affect the whole family.

Another idea might be to look at overseas sports training facilities and uni equivalents - could she spend a year in the states ?
