Camden School for Girls catchment area - is there a change of admission criteria?

I have heard that you have to have lived within the catchment area for Camden School for Girls since previous December if you want to apply for a place for 2012 (and don't fall under any of the other criteria). Does anyone know if this is true and if CSG are changing their admission criteria?
I have found no evidence on CSG's website or under the LEA proposals for admission in 2012. It might just be a rumour...?

CSG is a higly selective school based on a narrow proximity and musical ability (not the fairer aptitude) selection..
If it was a faith school mumsnetters would call for it to be closed down.

It probably wouldn't fall under the admissions criteria as such, since the restrictions on when you have to be resident are more about making sure that an address is the applicants permanent address, rather than a broom cupboard they've rented for teh purposes of putting in an application. I wouldn't be surprised if they were upping their level of diligence, since it reflects badly on the school if admissions are perceived to be subject to fraud.

Schools can be much more exacting if they want -- Dame Alice Owens have a great long checklist of things that will make them suspicious regarding address fraud.

The basic catchment for Camden is 1 mile, I think, or maybe 1 kilometer. That's for being allowed to apply at all. Hmm To actually get a place you need to live very considerably closer than that. It's bonkers really. People I know who were at Camden in the 1980s lived as far away as Finchley and Highbury.
