Can any one give me definite figures of class room sizes, for year 7 at Walton Girls School, Grantham , over the past 3 years ?

I doubt it. Who measures classrooms except for the school andcthey are unlikely tompost it here.

Are they rebuilding?

I don't know if classrooms fall under the general workplace regs which say that the volume of the room when empty, divided by the number of people normally working in it should be at least 11 cubic metres. This minimu may be insufficient depending on the layout, contents and the nature of the activities carried out in it.

In new BSF secondary schools clasrooms are about 55 square meters. my classroom is 97 square meters and I love it! But I don't teach in grantham (although, randomly, one on my best friends went there many moons ago). Why do you need to know? Ask the school is your best bet I think...

Surely the classrooms will be of varying sizes.

I wonder if OP means pupil numbers in classes?

Hi All , I worded my question wrong , I guess ? I meant how many Children in class . This is for year 7 intake , over past 4 years. I am trying to appeal for a place , and am looking for a loop hole ! Any one won an appeal for Walton Girls , Grantham , for an Over subscribed ? Any help greatly appreciated .

Ask the LA. They have to answer any question you ask in preparing for your appeal (within reason). The LA's case will include details of the number of pupils in each year, though, so you will be able to see which years (if any) are currently over the admission number.

Also just check that you get the right answer! The common answer is to say that there are 8 forms of entry of 30 within the year group. That is actually how they are grouped for pastoral activities. What you actually want is the number of teaching groups for english and maths, which could easily be 10 groups of 24. Comes to the same total but a very different perspective between classes of 30 and classes of 24.
You should also expect to see figures that go from say 10-15 in a class for those who are weak in the subject to 30-35 in classes where the pupils are strong in the subject in a normal secondary school.
Figures for subjects like science, Design and Technology etc will have 21 in the class as this is the recommended number.
