It's considered a "good" school to send your child to. Obviously results suffer in comparison to Bourne Grammar but if you look at the CVA it does a good job with the children it gets. The pastoral care is brilliant and the SEN department is really highly regarded. My primary is in easy commute of schools in Bourne, Spalding, Deeping and Donnington and Robert Manning is viewed locally as "the best" one to get into ( if not going to one of the grammars)

All true. However I know from personal experience that league tables are the number one priority there. So if you have academic aspirations for your dc, you want to make sure that they are not being pushed down an options route that benefits the school rather than the student.

GCSE equivalents are definitely favoured. A level students can end up with strange mixtures of subjects that would not get you anywhere near an RG uni.

Unfortunately that's the case with many schools now, perhaps the new ebacc will change things!

I used to teach there and I thought it was lovely. It was a really friendly school with pleasant students and staff. I would not hesitate to go back and work there. It is not a grammar school but the results for its intake are generally good. Sadly, league tables are usually number 1 priority for all schools. If you have academic aspirations for your child I would always advise that you do the research yourself anyway. I taught lots of GCSE in an ebacc subject. Not been there for a few years but I know people who still work there and are still really positive about it.

Agree with spanieleyes and Brass04 that it is a good school and one that we will be considering if DD fails the 11+ next September. We often go swimmimg at Bourne and the school is right next door and I think the majority of the pupils look smart and seem well behaved.
