I am moving to Cambridge and was wondering if anyone knows the top 5 state secondary schools in Cambridge City?

There are only five state secondary (11-16 or 11-18) schools within Cambridge City boundaries:
Parkside, Netherhall, St Bede's, Chesterton, Coleridge and The Manor.
Latest GCSE results (only Netherhall has a 6th Form - so most students then go on to Long Road or Hills Road SFC.

Of course, I can't count: there are six state secondary schools in Cambridge (excluding 6th Form colleges!
A very approximate academic hierarchy of these would put Parkside first, followed by St Bede's and Netherhall, then Chesterton, then Coleridge and the Manor - but things change from year to year.
I think that entry is largely based on catchment, except for St Bede's where being a practising RC or CofE or otherwise preferring a religious school is the requirement.
Outside the city boundaries are the village colleges which also feed into the sixth form colleges of the city. Several of these are very good/outstanding..

Basically all the secondaries in Cambridge and the surrounding area are pretty good. Manor, although at the bottom of Lily's list (and probably mine) is getting "good" with outstanding capacity to improve.

Central Cambridge is eye-wateringly expensive, buy or rent. The villages are generally much cheaper and may be worth considering if you don't have to be dead centre.

It's a very good area to be in for schools.

The village colleges in the villages around Cambridge are very good, particularly Impington and Comberton.
