Hi. Has anybody had the email invitation yet or heard if they are out?

My dd was fortunate enough to get an interview. Does anyone have any idea how many get through to this stage? Also has anybody had experience of what the interview is like?

Why should you send your DD to a school which publicly acknowledges that it's great "for the right girl"? How many other good girls' schools have to say that? No, they say we are the right school for any girl. I know what I'd prefer. You won't know if your DD is the "wrong" girl for SPGS until she's in pieces in the Priory. Top of league tables for A levels AND breakdowns or a good all round human-scale education? Be grateful Pebbles432.

@ BruceFoxton - if I have understood your post correctly and I am not sure that i have: I am inclined to disagree. IME, no school is right for "any girl" (or any boy, for that matter). Some schools are "right" only for a very specific type of pupil, while others make a genuine effort and succeed at accomodating a small or wide range of children. It seems to me that, when you go to the open days, many of these schools, both at primary and at secondary level, use very similar statements and buzzwords and it is actually not that easy to distinguish between the schools on the basis of open days only. Therefore, I would much rather that schools were more up-front about which particular type of pupil they would be good for and are trying to attract, rather than pretend to be all things to all pupils - and then leave the parents to deal with fall-out if a girl turns out to be the "wrong" girl as you put it.
There is no doubt in mind that SPGS and CLSG are not right for every girl and this is not just a matter of academic potential but also of the personality of the girl in question. I feel that the schools (don't mean SPGS and CLSG specifically, I mean selective schools in general) could do more to be up-front about this.
