My friend's DS started at secondary school in September and has had a few teething problems settling in, mainly as he has some SEN which have made him stand out a bit and have not helped with his ability to just blend into the crowd and get on with new school life. She has maintained fairly frequent contact with the Head of Year about how things are going (regarding his SEN) so is in regular contact with the school and feels pretty well informed about how he's getting on socially and just his day to day coping etc. The Year 7 children did CAT tests a few weeks after starting and at a recent Parent's Evening my friend asked whether she could be told the results of her son's CAT tests and was told no, it was not school policy etc. Does anyone know whether she has the right to insist on this? She is actually a teacher herself in a different secondary school so has a good understanding of how to interpret the results. But she is particularly keen to keep a close eye on his progress and just really support him and work closely with the school to help him and feels that knowing how he did will add to that over all picture. So does anyone know if she has a right to have his CATs results? She believes that she does but is reluctant to ask for it in writing until she knows if she really is entitled to have access to the results.
(By the way, yes I asked about EYFS results on the Primary Education board, but that was for me, this is genuinely for my friend!)
