would love to go to cambridge but will not make the grade

DD would love to go to cambridge university. she is in year 9 at the mo and is scoring average grades. Is there any hope of her excelling before reaching her A levels to maybe reaching her dream of going there.

It will be beneficial for her to continue to work hard, whatever happens in the next few years. I would just point out that Cambridge can be utterly hellish for people who are at the bottom of the pile there. Getting in isn't the end of the battle - it's the start. I know someone who really struggled there and failed their finals. This person was able to get into another (well respected)university and repeat the final year - which they found much easier and came top of the year!
