It is parents' evening time again and again I am left baffled by the APP stuff. Can anyone tell me if there is a website that tells you what it all means? My dd's scores range from 3 to 6, she is yr 7, what should she be getting? and why don't schools decode this stuff on the reports????

For year 7 a level 4 is average, so 5s are good, 6s are v good and 3 is below average.
They should make it clearer.

deonds on the subject though - ones they won't have done at primary would normally have a much lower score as they'v eonly just started them.

Hassled · 05/11/2010 18:55

yes, if you're talking drama or a new language, expect 3s. Otherwise 6s are good.

They are National Curriculum levels, the same ones you have been getting for your daughter since she started school in this country.
Apologies if you are new to the English State system.

What did she get for her end of Y6 levels in July for Maths, English and Science?
4b is national average.

Why oh why if schools want parents to be supportive ,do they make it all so difficult to understand ?

What are you confused about, can you be more specific?

That is really helpful, thank you all!
