Charity being funded to promote "chestfeeding" of newborns by males

How do people feel about transwomen (males) breastfeeding babies? I feel very concerned that newborn babies are being fed an experimental liquid, to enable the transwoman to feel affirmed.

Investing "research" into comparing it to breastmilk is about as sensible as researching whether coughed up phlegm is similar to breastmilk.

It's got protein! It's got white blood cells! Yeah, that's cos it's pus. It's being secreted as an immune response to whatever poison "HRT" the man has consumed.

In the example I read the baby already had a mother so could get milk from her - the trans woman was the bio dad. Totally unnecessary

I mean if it was for the baby's and not the biological father's benefit then other straight couples would be doing this.

In most men, even the thought of it is met with revulsion. Nearly all dads will have held their newborn and the newborn starts rooting towards the chest. In every case when I've seen this (dh and friends) the dad gets embarrassed and immediately passes the baby back to the mum. No Dad i know would go "ah yeah let's try feeding the baby myself"

Another point, women are given a long list of substances, foods, vitamins etc that they cannot take or eat whilst pregnant or breastfeeding, to protect the baby... anyone seeing the irony?

The drugs used for this are not freely available to women who struggle to breastfeed. This is where the research should be focused so it would benefit more people.

There are plenty of things that urgently need money - like the extremely long NHS waiting lists (long waits even for cancer), the pot-hole-riddled roads, the lack of specialist schools for children with special needs (everyone is educated together, and it's a disaster). But they throw money at their ideology-driven hobby horses.

Imagine that being the ‘priority’ for breastfeeding research rather than prioritising the problems that affect actual women who want to bf . So cross about this. 😡

This is breathtakingly horrifying. This is not for the child’s benefit. It’s purely to benefit men’s desires. How can this possibly be the priority in breastfeeding research?!?! How dare they spend our money on this rather than supporting more women to breastfeed?!?!

Yet the same people promoting this would react with horror at a man without a trans identity trying to breastfeed a child. Their ideology is utterly batshit and harmful.

This. It’s a sexual fetish, as is the vast majority of the trans movement and is child abuse promoted with public money. Which will also give these monsters a kick out of having conned people into paying for this to happen for them. Makes me weep to think of what some children suffer and here we are spending money to create a lifetime of abuse from birth. This will be a shame and scandal in the future for all countries that allow this.

Write to your MSP, expressing your views strongly but politely. SNP MSPS nearly always toe the party line, but some of them may have some quiet doubts about what is going on and may even speak out if enough people contact them. I'd also write in to the papers, talk about it on social media, and so on - pour more light onto what is happening. And make it clear that you're talking about males, not transmen (who may use the term chestfeeding instead of breastfeeding).

It's just so wrong on so many levels. If you're biological male you can not breast feed. You can not give birth. You will never understand menstruation. Absolutely horrified at this. Rant over

It's awful and horrifying. I wish BBC Scotland would have this news story front and centre but they won't. It's abuse of babies, frankly. Anyone involved in this should be in prison.
