No help sorry, but it might be worth asking at school as often retired teachers will do some. They might have a recommendation.

Where are you based or are you happy with online?

Leither1 · 16/06/2026 07:13

Happy with online. I did ask the school but they don’t have any contacts.

I got my daughter’s maths tutor from The Edinburgh, Fife and Lothians tutors - found them on Facebook and they matched us with a lovely woman around our availability. Shes been excellent.

@Leither1 try Ali on Progressio Tuition - absolutely wonderful tutor (and is working towards a career as a Physics Professor!) I know it's possible to do a 'free meeting/chat' first (it's what we did). Our sessions with Ali were also recorded which was a god-send for exam revision (given that I... really do not get physics... or maths for that matter!)

Best of luck x

You might have better luck looking for a tutor on a UK directory of independent tutors. Not as many independent tutors are on here (I am one but I don't do what you are looking for in afraid). Most of the professional tutors on the major platforms like Tutorful/MyTutor/Tutorhunt are leaving or super expensive as they take commission/fees of 35-65% which pushes the prices up, so you should look for a commission free platform if price is a factor. You also want to make sure the platform you use has filters for Physics Higher for Scottish Qualifications as some platforms (and tutors) group it together with A Level so be careful if you want be specific to Scottish Exams.
