@Destiny33 Cats generally hate (really hate) travelling, hate leaving their home and territory. Unless your cat is very exceptional and likes holidays, I would recommend you find a cat sitter to stay at your home when you go on house viewings.

@Destiny33 A cat's entire sense of being and security is centred on their home environment and core territory. The only time you should take a cat out of this comfort zone is necessary visits to the vet, and, obviously, if you have to move house. When moving house, the cat should be confined indoors to one room for two to four weeks, to acclimatise them and so they learn that this is now 'home'. After that, brief and supervised visits to the garden, for at least another month. Please do google about this process.

Edited to add: ChatGPT is very good at advising about cats because the patterns of behaviour are so well known.

This is why catteries and cat sitters exist! You can’t take a cat on holiday!

For a trip to Troon/Prestwick with your cat, look for pet-friendly accommodations such as hotels, B&Bs, or short-term rentals. Some places allow cats, but it's always best to check with the host or property in advance. You can also ask local pet owners for recommendations or search online for pet-friendly stays.
