Anyone got an Everhot?

We have a gas raeburn that heats radiators and water. We’ve been told it’s inefficient and expensive.

can anyone tell me if I can swap if for a boiler for the radiators and an electric Everhot? Will it heat the room? Are they nice to use?

Also how does anyone heat their kitchens?! We live in a drought old house so at the moment there is only the raeburn in the kitchen. In winter I often have to add an electric radiator. We are trying to make the house less Heath Robinson!

Yes my parents have one. It heat their large kitchen diner and it’s their only cooker. It’s really easy to cook, very much like an oil aga which they had in the last house.
they have the 90 without the induction plate. The ovens and hot plate is much bigger than a Rayburn (I’ve a solid fuel Rayburn that does heating and hot water)
They usually only have the hotplate and top oven on with the simmer plate and bottom oven off. It goes into eco mode between 9pm and 5 am, you can adjust the timings.

Wow thank you for that that’s exactly what we’re looking at and that does sound great. - DH and I are busy trying to work out if an Everhot will be a very expensive inefficient radiator, and if we need underfloor heating as well. Hoping not!
our kitchen is about 7x7 m I’m guessing your parents is larger? Thank you so much!

Yes theirs is bigger. My dad says it’s cheaper to run than an oil fired Aga and unlike a rayburn it’s always ready to cook. If you like frying things really hot such as steak. The hot plate probably won’t be hot enough for you that’s why the induction plate is available as an extra

Thank you so much- so that means it will heat the kitchen. I’m guessing I just lift up the lids and turn it up if it’s really cold. Trying to avoid underfloor heating as well as the whole point is to not have to have a new kitchen, much as I’d love one! We inherited the raeburn and with kids it took too long to cook , and it’s knackered so we put in an induction hob as well.
thank you, very reassuring, as they are Not Cheap.im glad your parents enjoy it.

if you use Facebook there is a very informative group called Everhot Cookers Discussion Group. I’m considering getting rid of a very expensive to run electric Aga and having an Everhot instead, especially as I have no other cooking source in my kitchen. I’ve learnt a lot from this group.
