Glasgow for the holidays

I’m hoping someone will be able to help me with my planning. We’re going to Glasgow next week for the tattie/oct holidays with two adults and three kids under 12. We are staying in Partick and planning on going to see Shrek at the King’s, Tutamkhamun at the SEC, Burrell Collection, and maybe Kelvingrove, Science centre, Transport museum.

What’s the best way of travelling round the city? Only one child has a Young Scot card. Does the Zonecard do the underground, train and bus or do I need separate tickets?

What are your recommendations for restaurants? Kids are reasonably adventurous so was thinking Canton House or Dumpling Monkey or Loon Fung. Maybe What Nonna Said. Mosob. Not sure if there’s other places that might be good.

What are your top tips for the area ? We know Glasgow well but don’t live there so just wondering if there’s things I haven’t thought of that might be cool for the kids to see.

A zone card covers bus, train and subway.

Sounds like you have loads planned already! Science centre is an amazing day out, I'd put that nearer the top of your list as it will keep them entertained for the whole day, especially if it's very wet. Burrell collection day you could also wander round Pollok park & see the Highland cows/Pollok house. There's a fairy trail & dinosaur bones at Pollok park too which might be nice depending on their interests. If you were over at Kelvingrove art galleries (again highly recommend) theres also the botanic gardens that way & loads of wee cafes / hot chocolate places. There's also clip&climb at kelvingrove which they might enjoy - and a soft play for any babies/toddlers.

If you're staying in Partick, you'll be a stone's throw away from Suissi, officially one of the best vegan restaurants in the world. They do excellent Malaysian food.

Subway and train should get you to most venues easily enough.

Kids for a quid on train - cheap day return for adults and buy the child tickets in person to add on. Probably cheapest way of getting to the Tutankhamen and to the Burrell.
sounds like a great trip and I’m actually going to steal some of your restaurant recommendations.
Other ideas - bouldering centres? What r the kids’ interests?
