Anyone had a positive experience of a secondary school in Scotland? Is so, where?

Giving this a wee bump to see if anyone replies with an answer - I'd love to know.

The deafening silence speaks volumes.

A friend suggested George Watsons in Edinburgh and it has indeed been excellent. St George’s (Edinburgh girls school) has a good reputation for this too. These are mainstream private schools though. Our state school experience was not good at all.

Do you mean a specialist unit within a mainstream school? These tend to be occupied by children with learning disabilities (plus comorbidities like autism) who couldn’t access the mainstream curriculum. Or do you mean a child who is working at age expectations but can’t cope with the mainstream environment?

Edinburgh has some at various High Schools but places are limited. Have seen friends have very positive experiences of them. But since the disbanding of the ASL service who knows what’s going to happen.

I have a friend who has a son in s2 in Gracemount in the hub. She had to fight like crazy to get him a place but has been satisfied with it. They’re few and far between.

Child has ASD diagnosis and been attending a base class within a mainstream school but we're moving so looking for similar provision.
