Glasgow airport

I’m travelling from Glasgow airport in a couple of weeks time with hand luggage only. Does Glasgow have the new scanners in place? Do I still need my liquid toiletries to be under 100ml and in a see through bag to be removed from my hand luggage? Any recent experience please?

Looks like they need to be 100ml but you can have as many as you like and dont need to be in a clear bag. Remember your return airport may have the old rules requiring a clear bag.

Liquids under 100ml can stay in your cabin baggage without using a liquid bag, with no restriction on how many 100ml containers you bring
Liquids include:

  • all drinks, including water
  • liquid or semi-liquid foods, for example soup, jam, honey and syrups
  • cosmetics and toiletries, including creams, lotions, oils, perfumes, mascara and lip gloss
  • sprays, including shaving foam, hairspray and spray deodorants
  • pastes, including toothpaste
  • gels, including hair and shower gel
  • contact lens solution
  • any other solutions and items of similar consistency
The following restrictions apply to all liquids, creams, gels, pastes and aerosols taken through security control:
  • Liquids may only be carried in containers holding 100ml or less
  • Liquids carried in containers capable of holding more than 100ml will not be permitted through security - please pack them in your hold baggage.

@dementedpixie thank you. Where did you read this, I’m reading lots of conflicting things online so not actually sure if GA have the new scanners or not.

Glasgow airport

I flew out of Glasgow airport last Wednesday. Liquids need to be max 100ml per bottle but don't need to be in one bag and also don't need to be removed.

Lemons4171 · 31/08/2025 23:05

Google Glasgow Airport Security , Im sure there will be a Q & A section

thedevilinablackdress · 01/09/2025 07:41

Some airports (including Glasgow iirc) are trialling the new equipment so some people will go through the channel where you don't have to remove liquids from your bag. But you can't guarantee which you will get, so stick to whatever it says on their website as above.

Plump82 · 01/09/2025 12:47

There's signs all over security along the queues saying they dont need to be removed so it doesn't depend which you will get.

whataboutallofthis · 01/09/2025 15:15

@Plump82 so as long as liquids are under 100ml then I can take as many as I like and leave them in my hand luggage case?

You don’t need to separate them but they still have to be under 100ml,

Correct. So much less hassle!
