Scottish Staycation from NE Fife

Okay I have my whole family (Mum Dad and my brother) visiting for a week and a bit in the summer, my DH has just told me he can't take the full wk now, and he is WFH for the majority, we have ordered an office pod for the garden but typically isn't arriving until last wk in Aug. So, I need to get everyone out of the house for a few nights I feel.

I am looking but am a bit 🫠 on where to start happy to go anywhere that isn't too tricky from NE Fife. West Coast, North West Coast and Islands would be a strong pref but I've been looking on booking.com and I think we've probably left to late, also thinking a hotel or lodge park might be better for ease and being able to book less than a week - don't know where to start tho. Does anyone have any suggestions as a starter for 10. I have an 8 yo.

Dunkeld? There are lodges at Erigmore with an indoor pool, walks next to the Tay. I haven't been to Moness but it has cottages and pool.

What about somewhere in the Aviemore area? Then you have Landmark and the highland folk museum as well as the wildlife park for days out and plenty of nice walks and drives including the beach at Loch Morlich. Should be lodges or flats/apartments around even if you have to look at Boat if Garten or Carrbridge or Grantown on spey.

@BigBoysDontCry I was thinking about Forest Adventure, we've never done it. What's it like? I know I'll be hankering for the coast though, but like you said there is Loch Morlich and the beach there. Thank you

Landmark is really good. I've not been for a few years and I think there is more there than there was then. You can easily spend a full day there. I've been on holidays around a lot of Scotland and I know what you mean about being by the sea, but that area is the place we've returned to the most. Just so much to do.

If you do Landmark on a wet day then maybe take some spare trousers/underwear, especially for your child, there's a fair chance of getting a wet bottom. The water slides are really popular.
