Looking for parents experiences/views on resources available for kids with dyslexia in East ren area . This can be primary and /or secondary.
Thanks

Primary is decent but secondary is poor. Think it’s the same everywhere

Thank you

The (secondary) schools are so big and so full that any additional needs can be badly overlooked.

This is one of the main reasons we scraped the money together to send the dyslexic child we had to private school after one year of state secondary. State school they were predicted Bs and Cs, now they are getting straight As. This is the difference between a school having the resources to help your child properly with dyslexia and a school having no time or resources to help at all. It’s scandalous that you have to pay for your child to get an education.

Thank you . This is all worrying but helpful . Private school is not a financial option for us but at least I know what to expect and to start as much home preparation as I can .

Part of the problem at secondary is children can be very sensitive to standing out. This may mean they don’t access supports that are available like IT, coloured papers, or reminding the teacher to give/email them copies of what gets put on the board.

Thankyou this is really helpful and information to keep in mind
