Hi, does anyone here has any experience sending kids to any of the schools above?
I would like to know which one has better academic results? Thanks

You can check online for exam results nationally but remember academic success depends on the catchment areas. It will depend too on which subjects your child wants to take and if both schools offer them.
Falkirk high has had very good exam performance over a number of years. A number of pupils have applied for Oxbridge in the past. It is strong in pastoral support too and has a wide range of after school clubs. Graeme High has a new Head Teacher who is an unknown quantity to me.

I don't know the schools in question but would also suggest you look at how many Nat 5s they take in S4 - until this year ours were limited to 6 which kind of narrowed their options if they wanted to go onto do 5 Higher, whereas the other high school in town did 7 in S4 which I feel gives them a slightly broader range to choose from for moving onto Higher. We've now gone on to 7 Nat 5 which I think is better.

I have had one child at Falkirk High and one school at Graeme High
For Nat 5A both achieved As and Bs
Son currently sitting Highers at Graeme
Daughter has left Falkirk but achieved over two years Highers and Advanced Highers and 5As 2 Bs and the 1C

Teachers do play a part in what results are achieved but tbh your child needs to put in the work to achieve the grades

They're much of the same really. Both have mixed catchment areas including areas of high deprivation, so both school have their issues.

Graeme High has the scottish football academy.

Falkirk high has the Basketball academy. I'd forgotten about that. Yes, both have many similarities.

The basketball academy isn’t an official academy like the one at Graeme High you have to go through 3 trails to get in ( just incase you didn’t know this )
I do believe however the Basketball teams at Falkirk High are excellent

I didn't mean to imply it was the Scottish basketball academy. Sorry for misleading. I just remembered about it being there.
I've checked the top Scottish schools list and both have approximately the same percentage of pupils with five highers or more. But that's not necessarily the only means to pick a school.

Graeme High S3 boys won basketball schools competition this year too, so perhaps quite a sporty school.

I have friends with children at GHS school and asked them what they thought. They noted don't do many trips.compared to other local schools and the trips that are ok offer are used as 'rewards' so certain children never get a chance (middle of the road).

It's not a particularly academic school. There seems to be a lot of support for children who need it and a focus on the high achievers at senior level but others are left to muddle along. This could be similar story across Scotland.

They can up to 8 NAT 5s, or a mix or nat 5s and nat 4s depending on academic ability. Not a huge range of subjects at higher but Falkirk high has a similar range and the consortia arrangements mean they can usually access higher subjects at another school anyway.

@LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand

God read back my post and I sound rude
Only wanted to point out that the football academy at GHS you have to trial for before you get accepted to the school . No trails for the basketball team at FHS before you go there
