Inspiration pls- have done all the main touristy things eg the castles.
Are there any interesting or picturesque hidden gems in central or west of Scotland?
Indoor or outdoor sights- suggestions welcome. Thanks!

Dundonald Castle in Ayrshire. Be sure to take the tour. It’s great! There’s a cafe too, then you can head to Troon for over creams and Wee Hurry chips

Crawick Multiverse near Sanquhar is also great and well worth a visit.

Keep meaning to go to the David Livingston centre as the cafe looks great 😂

Strathaven in the summer for the park, nice wee shops and cafes. Or for the balloon festival or HangarFest when there’s live music in all the pubs, cafes and restaurants

New Lanark

Douglas, and the lost village of Glenbuck. Douglas bakery a must when you’re there.

Baron’s Haugh RSPB reserve and estate in Motherwell (yes, really!)

crookston castle then lunch at Stailinn kitchen at Silverburn

My friend's sister runs the cafe at the David Livingston Centre (she also has a bakery in Uddingston). I've never been but I have tried a piece of a cake she made.

I also agree about Baron's Haugh and the adjoining Dalziel Estate; a haven in the midst of a busy town (even the hum of the M74 as you walk along the Clyde is calming in a strange way).

OP asked for recommendations in west or central Scotland. Fife is central.

A very short time in the summer, the Lavender Fields in Kinross are lovely. The how they make oil from the lavender tour is worth waiting for too.

A visit to Loch Leven too. There's a wee boat goes over to the Island too.
