ADHD private assessment/diagnosis in Edinburgh?

Just that really. I strongly suspect my 15 year old daughter has inattentive type ADHD and with the CAMHS waiting lists as they are, thought I'd do it privately. She's really struggling at school and time is not on our side.
The Edinburgh Practice is the only place that my GP knew of. I'd prefer a face to face rather than online, but it's so costly! Shock
Would really appreciate your help on this - thanks!

If you are willing to travel to Stirling, we used this clinic for Autism with our young adult son and found them to be very professional and good to deal with and their report was very comprehensive.

Thank you, but the travel would be a bit tricky I think.

I can only recommend in Glasgow. But to be honest, face to face is the only way of getting an accepted, proper diagnosis. There are all sorts of charlatans out there which will diagnose ADD/ADHD with a 20 minute Zoom call and a questionnaire, this is a world away from DS's diagnosis which was 2 meetings with a consultant psychiatrist, loads of questionnaires and we had to provide all sorts of old school reports and so on. No it's not cheap but ADD/ADHD is flavour of the month and because lots of people are investigating diagnosis, there are numerous options.

If your GP is recommending somewhere, listen. Because it may make things easier further down the line if your DD is diagnosed and needs medication under a shared care agreement.

Yep. For DS we had a initial questionnaire to complete which was a medical history and information regarding behaviours at all ages and he had an on-line assessment to complete. Then he had an initial meeting to check whether it was worth completing (and paying for) a full consultation. He then had the full consultation and then a feedback session where we were able to attend (at DSs invite) and this was followed by a full written report. The assessment was conducted by a psychiatrist and a speech therapist.

It's worth finding the right place.

Thank you all. The GP said she wasn't permitted to recommend somewhere, but the Edinburgh Practice was the only one she knew of.
So it probably is worth going with them.
