Schools that accept S6 pupils as external candidates

Does anyone know of a school that would be willing to enter a 17 year old as an external candidate for Advanced Higher Modern Studies next year? My kid is desperate to study it but their high school isn't offering it. They'd be willing and able to do all the studying independently/remotely. Thanks.

Most local authorities have a consortium option. DD is going to another school to study AH History. Could you ask the school if that is available?
Some companies offer Highers online but I don't think AH is an option.
You'd probably need to change school completely but would she want to?

Private schools in Scotland often offer that service. Which local authority area are you in?

Is there not another school in your local authority that offers it. As PP said it's often a consortium arrangement for AHs

Thanks, I'll ask about the consortium option. Our nearest private school would be Loretto.

But whose going to support with dissertation, deliver and mark a prelim provide an estimate grade for UCAS and SQA? Consortiums are shite! And not working, if I still had DCs coming through the system I wouldn't want them near the hot mess they are becoming. DD1 had to move school for S6 as she couldn't get the AHs where she'd attended S1-5.

The AH Hub at Caley was amazing, resourced and a great prep for uni. Consortiums arose from the ashes of home learning in lockdown and enough said there. Teachers are turning their backs on AH consortiums in my local authority and those nearby.

Thanks for that @Lidlfix ...

A consortium is not the same as being taught an AH in another school in the authority. That's a provision that's worked reasonably well for a long time. Consortiums are teachers delivering simultaneously to in person and remote students online.
