hi, not content with covering East Lothian in swathes of unimaginative gulag housing, there are plans afoot to stick a theme park on a farm in east fortune causing massive traffic build up through surrounding villages- there’s no other transport than cars- and all sorts of other stuff that will affect north Berwick, tyninghame etc.
it’s a plan by the guy that owns east links theme park, just 6 miles away which gets 1000 visitors a day so about 800 cars.
if you’d like to protest please see the link above, if you’d like to share and spread the word please do.
East Lothian is still beautiful and green in a lot of places despite the best efforts and insane amounts of new housing of the town planners, let’s try and keep it!

@HelterSkelter224

thank you for actually speaking out and ur comments are completely true let’s not mean there are no bullshit over-commercialised extortionate theme parks? East Lothian offers so much more than this with nature farming etc

EDOL · 11/11/2023 22:41

Old site isn’t closing false info

EDOL · 11/11/2023 22:57

Funny how every one thinks they know the “truth” about east links.

EDOL · 11/11/2023 23:03

Can you explain your comment reg this-what one for one if one has to close you are ok with that fact that people loose their jobs???

ThePlantKiller · 15/11/2023 17:24

So it's basically another Heads of Ayr type place?

Waitwhat23 · 15/11/2023 17:37

I'm another one whom is a bit 😐 at the idea that there's not much to do in Scotland. I could make a huge list of things to do just in East Lothian, let alone other areas.

In terms of East Links, I haven't had a chance to read over the plans yet but depending on the site, I can see there might be some issues with the surrounding roads. We've had some scary encounters on the road going from Merryhatton Garden Centre towards Brands Farm Shop with people taking bends in the middle of the road and being shocked another car was coming, people taking that road much too fast etc.

This is a great idea to boost the Scottish economy. I can't wait for this as it's going to save travelling all the way to bloody Blackpool 🙄

Waitwhat23 · 15/11/2023 17:57

From the website in the OP -

'The proposed development is expected to be very similar to the existing family park at East Links'

Vettrianofan · 15/11/2023 18:44

After reading further into the thread it seems it's nothing that exciting after all! I thought it was meant to be a theme park like Alton Towers?! What an anticlimax.

EDOL · 15/11/2023 20:38

Well u obviously should visit it at it site at the mom

EDOL · 15/11/2023 20:40

Exactly do we need 2 within 10 mins of each other??? Perhaps people should look at the person/people wanting to move this and why apparently it’s not as black and white as it seems!!
