Every bloody year insisting Halloween is American!

No it's bloody not.

Hope you are enjoying your guisers and see some good party pieces tonight. Although I'm braced to hear the same joke 100 times.

Next up will be the threads insisting that we call the big man Father Christmas.

Hallowe'en isn't American. Trick or treating is American. We used to dress up and go round asking for a penny for the guy and hope to get sweeties of pennies - if we were really unlucky we'd get monkey nuts!

Santa isn't American either. We always called him that. Father Christmas sound so pretentious to me.

Trick or treating did evolve in the US from guising.

It’s always been Father Christmas to me. It sounds so cozy. Santa sounds a lot ….less cuddly and definitely more American.
