Where to wait in Glasgow while DD is at a gig at King Tuts?

DD is going to a gig at King Tuts on St. Vincent Street next week. I'll be driving her through from Edinburgh - so I'll have some time to kill while she's there. Would love some suggestions for where I should wait, probably from 7pm ish to maybe 11pm ish. Preferably quietish and ideally not too far away from the venue... 🤔. Any ideas?

Not up to date with my Glasgow places but there was a cineworld nearby, seems like that could fill up a chunk of time.

The downstairs bit of king tuts is nice to sit in.

Plump82 · 15/10/2023 18:07

There's not a whole lot around that area so I'd second the cinema suggestion. By the time you get there, watch a movie and get back to King Tuts to pick up your daughter.

Oh the cinema is a good idea, thanks! Will check it out. And Haggis thanks, I couldn't remember what the bar downstairs was like but that's another good option. It might be full of parents actually...

I've waited in the bar for DD. I took a book and had a couple of cokes and a packet of crisps. It was quite nice. And yes, lots of other single middle-aged people doing the same 😂

Or there’s a good Indian restaurant about 200m away.

Kingdomoffife · 15/10/2023 19:57

I don't think it's that far from the Glasgow film theatre if you're looking for a cinema nearby.

Bewildermum · 15/10/2023 21:27

Oh great, thanks everyone, I've got quite a few options then. Much obliged!

Malmaison is quite near by - it has a funky but quiet bar.

The GFT or the Butterfly and Pig on Bath St maybe (I'm a few years out of date but it used to be a nice, fairly quiet place!)

If you want somewhere elegant and quiet there’s the lovely bar at The Kimpton on Blythswood Square. We popped in there last night before a gig at King Tuts as it’s literally just around the corner. They serve tea and coffee so no need to indulge in cocktails 😁

whatt2do · 15/10/2023 22:43

Is there an option to go in then shift to the other side from DD and enjoy the music🤘

Also suggest Butterfly and Pig. Although can get busy after 9 at weekends.
The Starbucks in Cineworld is also fairly civilised but closes at 9.
