Yes went in the summer and we enjoyed it, so well worth a visit! There’s a good cafe too.

Try to pick a dry day though 😅

Callisto1 · 25/09/2023 13:00

It's a nice place for a day out as long as you pick a dry day. It's all outdoors!

RoséProsecco · 25/09/2023 20:39

I went the other week for the first time & enjoyed it. The grounds are quite extensive & you can spend a good hour or two there.

Avenueofcherryblossom · 25/09/2023 20:42

I’ve been and I thought it was fab. My DC really engaged with it all too.

Jamandcheesesandwich · 26/09/2023 10:03

Me and the DC loved it (surprisingly for the boys who are not very arty). DH less so. Complained about the entry cost. Then googled the owners and complained that he was funding their vanity project/home.

ruby77 · 26/09/2023 13:20

I think it closes for winter at the beginning of October. I really like it there.

tellittothemoon · 05/10/2023 18:53

It's closed now until next spring. I have been several times and will continue to go once a year as they keep adding to it. It is absolutely wonderful!

Merrilydancing · 06/10/2023 08:22

That’s a shame it’s now closed as I was hoping to go in the October holidays as had never heard of it until recently.

My DH hated it with a passion. Couldn't stand it and has no desire to visit again. My DC were not particularly enamoured with it either. I enjoyed it though. Horses for courses 🤷🏻

I know it’s closed now (or just about to be) but they also do a Christmas fair which is lovely. We went last year and really enjoyed it. They’re also open for the Halloween weekend and there will be some activities for the kids too. I liked their page on Facebook to keep up to date. I’m only a short drive away though so we’ve been a good few times when I ran out of ideas of things to do in the summer.

mintich · 07/10/2023 17:07

Yes the whole family loved it!

IrmaBunt · 07/10/2023 17:29

I love visiting, especially because 100% of the income from visitors is ploughed into their programme for children/schools. I think that's really admirable.

HeadNorth · 07/10/2023 17:31

We loved it when we visited- 3 generations of us, mum, gran and adult daughter. The cafe is lovely too

Waitwhat23 · 07/10/2023 17:32

Been there for a wedding, which was beautiful and a couple of visits which I enjoyed. I love the Amythyst cave in particular!

Marmalady75 · 07/10/2023 22:46

We went before Covid (so it may have changed), but found it very expensive. £6 for a slice of cake in the cafe and £8 for a fish finger sandwich! Went to a local cafe instead.

Edithisoverthere · 07/10/2023 23:04

I think it's one of the few places I've been to in Scotland which genuinely holds its own internationally (I'm Scottish). It has a vision and confidence that you rarely get here. It's a three hour drive for me but I go every summer, it's a fabulous place without the depressing insularity of most Scottish attractions.

redfacebigdisgrace · 07/10/2023 23:41

It’s unique. I absolutely love it.
