Teenage summer clubs

Has anyone come across any clubs or activities in Glasgow that would be suitable for a 16 year old to do to get him out the house over the summer holidays- he's not into s specific sport so was looking for something more all round/ general but everything seems to be aimed at younger kids. Not looking to die d a fortune.

I think most 16 year olds are looking for summer jobs not summer clubs.

Working/volunteering? My eldest taught music at a summer camp for at risk / children with additional needs for instance

Also looking for summer jobs but not seen much yet so thought clubs/activities/workshops could be a plan. Done lots of volunteering but not seen anything specifically for the summer. Would like something where there would be other people same age to hang out with n meet some new people.

I'd have thought most 16yos would be hanging out with pals. And be beyond the stage of needing looking after at play scheme's.

If he's struggling with friendships he might want to consider Explorer Scouts or Network being a young leader for Beavers and Cubs.

Just a thought some churches also run weeks of summer activities would he be interested in going along as an extra leader but he'll probably need disclosure check.

I wouldn't really expect a 16yr old to want their mum to organise their summer holidays 🤣

My kids all went away to camp at this age (started when they were 11 and kept going until they left school).

It's practically their favourite week of the year. There's a real festival vibe, so chilled out and really relaxed but they do loads.

My Dd is volunteering this year, cant recommend it more highly. Real mix of kids from all over the country. Great place to meet new people, DS (17)regularly meets up with people he met from the other side of the country.

My 16 year old has signed up for NCS
It's only a week but sounds really good.
