I’m trying to find information out if there’s a daily charge (like in London) or if it’s just a flat out £60 fine. I’ve got about 8 events booked in Glasgow between June and October and it’s going to prove tricky and risky to not take my car. I’ll have to just ditch my plans if it’s going to cost a fortune on too
of what I’ve already paid.

I really wish public transport was a better option to and from rural parts of Scotland late at night.

@KnittingNeedles thank you!

Where I stay there is no realistic train option, the drive to work takes 20 minutes on a bad day. Pubic transport take 5 times longer. It’s all good until the m8 is closed and then you get trapped. Reading online they have option to suspend it, but how do you know if they have or not.

The LEZ won't apply unless you have a really old vehicle. Its Euro 4/6 or better (depending if petrol or diesel) which is the vast majority of normal cars.

You really need to educate yourself on where the point of being acceptable is - it's Diesels as new as 7 years old.
That isn't 'really old' by any stretch of the imagination.

Cars have been built and designed so that a 10 year old car is now not as “old” and hopeless as they once were.

10 years ago we were still told that Diesel was less polluting than petrol. Now it’s totally switched and it’s the most toxic.

Not everyone can afford a new car. Not everyone can even get the credit to buy a new car on HP! I’d love to know what % of the population own outright cars of 7 years or less.

@LittleDitto exactly 10 year old cars are not old. And so many people have cars on lease type agreements.

Even the Lord Provost's car cannot enter the city. Now that becomes a complete nonsense of a policy.

Does anyone know if you programme Apple Maps to avoid the lez? I have a 2008 camper van we sometimes take to the west coast via m8 m77 etc. would be good to have back up if there’s ever a diversion or we want to get off the motorway for fuel or food.
