Targeted school strikes - which schools are affected and why is there nothing in the news about this?

Tomorrow is the first of 6 additional days of targeted school strikes, we're in east Dunbartonshire and it's just Douglas in Milngavie & Bearsden Academy that are shut, the other secondary in Bearsden, Boclair, isn't within the fragrant Ross Greer's constituency and so is open.

We received a letter from someone eduction in the council saying discussions with SQA are happening, so it's at least being acknowledged how hugely unfair this is for a selection of Scottish students. Whether they actually do anything about it is another matter.

I don't have exam year DC but I'm seeing nothing in the news about this, so how much difference is this action actually going to make?

I've just got the headache of an extra 8 days of childcare juggling to do, which is a total pita but nothing on what's happening for exam years.

Is there even a list published of which schools are closed?

So are any of the politicians affected then?? Greer and Sturgeon don’t have kids. Summerville’s are at school elsewhere. Does swinney have school age kids?

the whole thing is a farce.

Swinney does, yes

My DS is in a targeted school - secondary. I think it is a fundamentally unfair tactic.

The SG has known now for a year what the teachers pay claim was and what have they done to sort it out? In fact, they've known longer than a year as the unions accepted a tiny increase the year before on the basis they'd campaign for a larger one the next year.
I agree it's shit for pupil and parents and staff, I'd say the only people who don't seem to be affected are the Scottish government.
